“Laurent Subilia is one of the most experienced psychologists working with war victims. He came in Romania at the invitation of ICAR Foundation to work on a joint strategy to welcome potential asylum seekers in our country.”

The Swiss psychotherapist and doctor was invited to Pasaport Diplomatic show to talk about trauma experiences the refugees from war zones bring with them when arriving to Romania.

In the context of the Romanian Government’s proposal to collaborate with NGOs and competent ministries, training activities for Romanian physicians and specialists who will treat and will be working with refugees arrived in Romania are needed.

Curently, Laurent Subilia is collaborating with specialists from ICAR Foundation in order to elaborate the first training program on trauma in Romania, addressed to mental health specialists.

The training program will be the first Romanian program developed based on a transfer of expertise from Swiss professionals, culturally focused and oriented towards migrants’ and refugees’ needs.
