The Asylum Law no. 122/2006 – modified and updated

Legislative modifications brought to the Asylum Law no. 122/2006 came into force on 24 December 2015 – changes that include recognition of victims of torture among asylum seekers.

Thus, according to article no. 5:

(1) The application of this law is done by taking into account the special needs of vulnerable persons.

(2) The category of vulnerable persons include: minors, unaccompanied minors, disabled people, elderly people, pregnant women, single parents with their minor children, victims of trafficking, persons suffering from serious illnesses, people with mental disorders and persons who have been subjected to torture, rape or other serious forms of psychological, physical or sexual violence, or under other special circumstances.
