First experience exchange in Switzerland

A multidisciplinary team of experts from ICAR Foundation took part in the first study visit in Switzerland on 10 March 2015 – 13 March 2015, within the project „Harmonisation in professional development standards in psycho-trauma intervention through Swiss-Romanian cooperation, which aims to develop and accredit a training program on trauma with international contribution.

The visit was aimed to exchange the good practice between ICAR Foundation and Pluriels mental health specialists in terms of working with traumatised people. The Swiss partner organised visits to the most important centres offering medical and psychological assistance to migrants and other vulnerable groups in order to observe and discuss the Swiss professionals work in the field of mental health. On this occasion, the Romanian and Swiss partners discussed theoretical and practical approaches of the training program that is going to be develop within the project. Also, the partners analysed the needs of Romanian specialists in mental health working with vulnerable groups, the discussions focusing on training curricula, target group and therapy methods.

ICAR Foundation and Pluriels Association, a Swiss no-profit organisation from Geneva are implementing the project Harmonisation in professional development standards in psycho-trauma intervention through Swiss-Romanian cooperation”co-financed by a grant offered by Switzerland to Romania through the Swiss Contribution to the enlarged European Union. The project aims to address the disparities in the mental health expertise of Romanian specialists working with vulnerable and traumatized groups, and their limited access to specific, practical and targeted professional training programmes in Romania.
